of this full-service salon and spa in Historic Troutdale. The family of
printed pieces includes a large format brochure describing salon services,
letterhead and business cards, and artwork for advertising and promotion.

Two examples of public information projects which needed a quick, creative
two-color solution to the problem of information and recognizability.
Ms. Beckett created the masthead and adapted the maps for Salem Downtown,

corporate entities: Lone Oak Construction, Lone Oak Real Estate and Peak
Development Corporation. Products included new logo designs, marketing
brochures, real estate development documents, business cards and web graphics.

Manda Becketts original painting of the Columbia River was reproduced
on the commemorative poster for this project, as well as the report covers
and a special limited edition gift for the committee members. The three
volume Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan which she designed with
Linda Cordilia, and published, set a new benchmark for esthetics and readability
among technical reports.
Ms. Becketts
involvement with the project began with analyzing and describing the entire
project in printers terms and requesting bids from various printers, keeping
them abreast of the changes as the project committee discussed their options
and the products became more focused. The project was awarded to Millcross
Litho and Ms. Beckett managed the printing of the entire project, including
collateral materials required for the signing ceremony. She also redesigned,
and continues to publish the ongoing newsletter Common Waters.

Eastbank district. From project development, to design and production,
the talented Claritas Consortium team ensured the success of our piece.
This has become one of the best examples of business marketing materials
developed for the Portland Development Commission.

| Tualatin Valley Water District Backflow Demonstration |

Using Freehand, Manda Beckett produced a complex illustration diagramming
the dangers of backflow from the reservoir tank to the household sprinkler.
She worked with TVW to create the display within a restricted budget.
The illustration was output onto a large display board by Color Innovations
and Ms. Adamson says it is her programÍs prize possession.

For Phillip Williams & Associates, Manda Beckett created a three panel
educational and promotional display. This job required translation of
a GIS map through Illustrator and finally into Freehand to be coordinated
with many other elements, such as photographs, Word files and Excel charts.
The final product was a handsome, integrated whole, output and mounted
by TIS.

Manda Beckett teamed with writer, Kate Moore, to create this series of
neighborhood information pieces to smooth the way for the introduction
of parking meters to the Lloyd district. We began by designing the Change
is Coming to Lloyd District mailer, including a return response card and
used the visual and verbal theme materials to follow up with the Growing
Challenges mailer and seven coordinated fact sheets to be distributed
at the public meeting. Ms. Beckett supervised Precision Graphics for the
printing and coordinated with Admail to distribute these mailers. Ms.
Newton said the mailers elicited an unusual amount of positive response
from the neighborhood.

The job requires efficient, adaptive copy-fitting and custom illustration
while remaining within previous style guidelines and meeting tight deadlines.
The Fanno Creek and Beaverton Creek Newsletters were printed by Prism
Graphics with supervision by Ms. Beckett.

in vermiculture products for garden and house plants. The garden food

Salem Futures was a planning project in need of an eye-catching image
to attract public participation. Manda Beckett supplied the illustrations
following the theme material and designed it to be printed as a two color
mix, thus producing a lot of color within a small printing budget. She
coordinated with staff at Pacific Rim and delivered negatives from Revere
Graphics to the City of Salem printshop.

web site. The site was established to facilitate the public review process
of the City of Portland's Economic Development Strategy in 2002. The full
report and industry panel appendices were delivered over the web for communication
to the public, and stakeholders in this process.
